Fire Dragon Markings

They've been spoken about, and like the Shimmer-Wings you'll be seeing a lot more of them, so it's time to discuss the markings around the Fire Dragons eyes.

Every Fire Dragon has them, there have been no exceptions throughout history. The markings swoop upward or downward, depending on a dragon's family. In the old eras, there were very few families with upward swooping eye-marks, and this fact is still true in the current era.

In the current era, the only dragons with upward swooping eye marks are members of the royal family, dragons descended from Drake. There have been some dragons who's marking appear to go both ways, and they are usually nobles, dragons who live in the castle and serve the king, but aren't actual royals.

Here is an example of the eye markings:

As you can see it is quite easy to tell which way the markings go, and if there is any dual direction in the spikes, there is usually an upward swooping mark towards the back or top of the eye.

On rare occasion opposite swooping marks may appear in a family. If downward appear in an upwards family, that dragon is usually allowed to still in the castle, but they are all but disowned and forgotten.

If upward appear in a downwards family, the family is invited to move into the castle, and the dragonet is given a place of high honor.
