King Ash is a very reserved dragon. Born into the royal family, Ash has grown up with power, and is a dragon to be respected. Fire Dragons revere him as the greatest king of modern times, mainly for all of his new ways of subduing Ice Dragons and keeping the wintery population of Drake's Peak 'under control'.

However, the Ice Dragons see him as a self-centered dragon, who was raised with everything he ever wanted. Ash tends to create new laws, ones that makes things harder for the Ice Dragons, frequently.

Ash himself thinks of himself of a benevolent ruler. Everything he does, he does in order to prove to his son that Fire Dragons truly are the dominant species.

When Ash's horns began coming in, his parents realized that Ash had what is known as 'Soft Spike', meaning his head horns are rounded and dull. Some might say that this would disqualify him from leadership, but as he was the only child of his family, Ash was crowned king.
